Meet Dr. Bob

Dr. Robert Brookman 2022.jpg

Dr. Robert Brookman
D.O. FCCP, FACOI, ABAARM

After practicing Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care Medicine for thirty years, Dr. Brookman believed he was an expert in helping critically ill and chronically ill individuals. While most of his patients got “better” they were not actually put on a path toward optimum health. Dr. Brookman put out their acute raging fires, but did little to correct the underlying problem(s) that got them into trouble in the first place.

Why not? Because in Western medicine, physicians are trained in disease and to intervene with pharmaceuticals, radiation, or surgery. Dr. Bob was not trained in wellness and how to keep patients’ healthy. Further, our current broken health care system does not reward doctors for keeping patients well. Sophisticated diagnostic testing, invasive procedures and prescription pharmaceuticals mean physicians are compensated by the insurance companies, and is one of the many reasons young doctors gravitate to specialties and subspecialties….better remuneration.

Previously Dr. Brookman considered himself a super subspecialist.  Today he likes to think of himself as a super generalist.  Rather than focusing on a single medical problem such as COPD or asthma, as he did in the past, he wants to understand everything that is out of balance with his patients and try to return them to optimum health, to the vitality phase of life.

"Age Fast, Age Slow

it's up to you."
